Welcome To Wanderlust Laura!
I am Laura, a Scottish Travel Blogger. I have lived in Scotland my whole life and I have had amazing opportunities to explore this beautiful country.
Why I Blog
- To give guides and information about Scotland for people to enjoy
- To encourage locals to explore more of their own country and heritage
- Show people how lucky great it is to travel to Scotland despite the bad weather
- To get people to get active outdoors and improve their wellbeing
- A reminder that you can do all of this on your own as a solo traveller
- To share the wonders of the majestic landscapes that are on my door step
- Help people plan their holidays or vacations to Scotland

Who I Am
I am a lover of the outdoors (camping, kayaking, hiking etc.) and travel (solo, city breaks, island hopping, road trips etc.).
In the summer of 2019, I completed a summer as a camp counsellor in the USA. I visited many states during the summer of 2019 including New York, Maryland, Atlanta, Florida, Louisiana, Ohio, Nevada and California.
I have been to many European cities, including London, Barcelona, Tallinn, Copenhagen, Prague, Lisbon, Porto, Split, Palermo, Berlin, Poznan, Gdansk and Dublin. Also, I have visited many towns and resorts in between.
In addition, I have spent a year in Australia on a working holiday visa. This was one of the best experiences in my life.
The passion to start this website began when working as a waitress in St Andrews. I was meeting so many people from all over the world who were asking what are the best things to do in Scotland.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and the tourism industry was badly affected, I decided to put all the resources and information I knew into this blog.
There was a period where many people where stuck in their home country, with nothing to do. If only everyone was adventurous as I am and tried to explore as much as Scotland as possible in this time.
I hope this information reaches locals and international visitors and guides people to make great itineraries for their time in Scotland.
