The Bach
The first eatery on this list is a casual New Zealand-inspired bistro. The Bistro is owned by Kiwis and there are many Kiwi-themed posters and merchandise.
The Bach is pronounced ‘batch’ and is a Kiwi term for a holiday getaway home of sorts. There is an ultra-laid-back feel and no-fuss mentality.
Some of the amazing food includes hawker roti, Turkish eggs, katsu-loaded fries and much more. The menu is extensive and every taste is catered for.
There is a variety of hot and cold drinks, milkshakes and iced coffees as well as cakes and traybakes.
The spacious interior alone is stunning there is an incredibly lovely ambience. Also, the staff are always welcoming and helpful too.
The Bach is located in the city centre, looking onto the McManus Galleries. Most importantly, it is one of the few locations in Dundee which offers an all-day brunch.
The opening times are from 9 am to 4 pm. The Bach sits over 100 people at once, and wine from all over the world and craft beer is served after 12 pm.
The Cannon
The Cannon is a cosy eating spot for brunch and coffee. The interior is nicely decorated and it has a modern stylish feel to it.
One of the talking points of the menu is the Tay Eggs (poached eggs on sourdough toast, with avocado and smoked salmon). Also, the super sweet milkshakes and french toast will cure any sugar cravings in an instant.
The Biscoff pancakes were out of the world too. Also, On Tuesdays, they do a ‘Pancake Tuesday’ deal where you buy one pancake and get the second half price.
The cafe opened in 2021 and is named after the founder Scott Cannon. The opening times are from 10 am to 3 pm.

The Flame Tree Café has been one of the top places for brekkie for the past 8 years. The Flame Tree’s claim to fame is the colourful rainbow bagels.
This artful independent cafe is Aussie based and is worth checking out. The soups are nourishing, the coffees are great and the food is fresh and delicious.
There are vegan and vegetarian options. The opening times are from 10 am to 4 pm.
Pacamara
Pacamara showcases the best innovative brunch options on its menu. This café is known for its brilliant breakfast dishes.
Interestingly, the meaning of Pacamara is a type of coffee bean. The coffee spot is another spot in Dundee which is influenced by Australia, more specifically, the coffee parlours in Melbourne.
There is a chic aesthetic, with art decorating the walls and wooden floorboards.
There is a menu of set dishes or you can choose your own cooked brekkie. Moreover, this cosy cafe welcomes furry friends.
Pacamara is best known for its Colombian eggs. One of my favourite dishes from Pacamara was the Korean Chicken Waffles paired with an iced coffee.
Also, Pacamara is always updating the menu, so there are always fresh new dishes to try. In addition, there is a wide range of veggie and vegan options.
Pacamara is open from 9 am to 5 pm. The eatery is located on the bustling part of Perth Road and attracts many university students.
The Parlour Café
The Parlour Café is located in West Port and it is a popular stop for university students. The cafes serve breakfast, brunch and a selection of home-baking and light bites.
The cafe has a lovely cheery setting and a relaxed atmosphere. They serve homemade delicious food, great coffee and great tastes of old classics.
One of the things to try here is the cinnamon rolls with hot coffee.
The cafe is open from 8 am, Monday to Friday. There are veggie, vegan and gluten-free options.
Bridgeview Station
Bridgeview Station is housed within an old Victorian railway station. This venue will make you feel that you have been transported back in time.
The venue was nominated for two architectural awards, Bridgeview Station was based on the original design of Dundee’s old Magdalen Green Railway Station. In addition, Bridgeview Station includes an authentic 1870s railway carriage.
This is a family-run gastro café, described as a charming haven, that boasts fine dining-quality food and is served by lovely staff. In addition, the Bridgeview Station is located on the waterfront and there are panoramic views across the River Tay.
The menu includes Scottish Classics, from hearty-filled rolls to Scot’s breakfast, scrambled egg, and homemade granola. The food is freshly prepared and locally sourced.
Breakfast is served from 8 am to 11 am.
The West House
The West House is located in West Port in Dundee. It has been a local favourite for a long time.
Over the years, I have enjoyed some of the best pancakes from the West Port. Also, they serve various egg dishes, waffles and more.
Breakfast is served from 8 am to noon.
Taypark House
The Taypark House serves a boutique hotel breakfast. The historic Scots Baronial mansion is based in the West End of Dundee in 1863.
There are incredible views across Dundee’s Botanical Gardens, River Tay and the hills of Fife. Taypark’s restaurant was once the original library and drawing room of the Taypark House.
The breakfast menu includes bagels, classic Scottish brekkie, benedicts, pastries and waffles.
Breakfast is served from 9 am to noon.
Mary’s Kitchen & Tearoom
Mary’s Kitchen and Tearoom is a secret gem. This is a family-run business which has successfully set up a charming setting for breakfast.

Vandal & Co is a cool and funky option for Brunch. Pancakes, filled croissants and a selection of eggs on toast are all available on the menu.

The Post House Coffee Co. is located in Blairgowrie. This award-winning independent coffee house provides artisanal coffee and fresh food.
The interior design is cosy and inviting with a mix of rustic and modern elements. Also, there is a lovely outdoor seating area which glasshouse pods for all-weather dining.
There was a post office in the building where the coffee house is set in. There are postal memorabilia in the front room including original artefacts, a typewriter and a Post Master’s briefcase.

The Tartan Coffee House is located on Perth Road next to the University of Dundee campus. The eatery was established in 2005 and it is independently owned.
The coffee house serves some of the biggest portions in Dundee. Also, there is a great selection of light snacks and cakes.
There is a great ambience and is always very popular. In addition, there is a selection of fantastic gifts.
There are great gluten-free, vegan and dairy-free options. The opening times for Tartan Coffee House are 9 am to 5 pm.
Bruach Bar & Restaurant
Bruach Bar & Restaurant is located on the sunny Broughty Ferry. The vibrant and modern spot has a great reputation in the local area and wider region.
The Bruach has been welcoming guests since 2007 and has been delivering delicious, fresh Scottish cuisine. There is the Big Bruach Breakfast, Arbroath Smokie Open Omelette, pancakes and French toast.
The brunch menu is served daily from 10 am to noon.
Mitchell’s
Mitchells is a small café located next to Forgans Broughty Ferry. There is also Mitchells and Forgans also has a restaurant in St Andrews.
The menu includes a selection of coffee, sandwiches and breakfast rolls. You will see that the menu changes depending on the time of year, reflecting the seasons.

Gracie’s
Gracie’s is a lovely eatery in Broughty Ferry. Breakfast at Gracie’s is always amazing, there is a selection of delicious home baking, expertly brewed teas and coffees.
There are a few outdoor seats which are great to sit at on a nice day. In addition, this is a dog-friendly café.

Bowman’s Coffee House
Bowmans Coffee House is a lovely place on the Broughty Ferry. Bowman’s serves waffles, sourdough toast and pancakes.
Also, on the Bowman’s signature dishes is the Brunch Sharer Board includes bacon, scrambled egg, toast, pancakes, waffles, maple syrup, Nutella, jam, fresh fruit and banana.
Brunch and breakfast are available at Bowman’s Coffee House from opening until 11:45 am.

Pancake Place is best known for serving pancakes. The pancakes are light and fluffy, the portion sizes are great, and there is plenty of sauce and cream as well.

This is a small New York themed café which sells delicious coffee and pastries. I like to come here once I have have left the train station.
The café has an underground seating area which is laid out like a New York underground station. I enjoyed the apricot jam croissant.
Longparke Farmshop & Café
Longparke Farmshop & Café is located on North Grange Farm, next to Ethiebeaton Retail Park in Monifieth. There is a lovely atmosphere and plenty of seating in the restaurant area.
You can sit out on the patio in nice weather and watch the horses in the field. Longparke is a restaurant that also welcomes your furry friends.
Longparke has a lot of brunch options, so excellent burgers and a unique selection of tasty traybakes.
In addition, there is a farm shop with a nice selection of fresh fruit and veg, to Gin, Vodka and many tasty treats.
